Real World Countdown: What’s Happening in the Career Center this Week!

careercenter2Hello upperclassmen and motivated underclassmen! As they love to say in the career center, it’s never too early to start thinking about life after Wesleyan. Here are a few events happening in the career center this week that may be of interest to those interested in making civic engagement a part of your next step:

Interview Prep Workshop: Not sure what to expect in a job interview? Learn the do’s and don’ts of interviewing so that you can present your best self. (9/18; 12:30p-1:30p in ALLB 311)

Resume Writing Workshop: If you have never written a resume or have a resume in progress, this workshop is for you!  The major components of a resume will be discussed, and it is possible that you could come out of the workshop with a rough draft to bring to the CC for editing help. If you already have a rough draft of a resume, the workshop can be useful in helping you to add new experiences and make your resume into a more powerful document ready for approval. The resume approval process will also be reviewed. (9/20; 12:30p-1:30p in ALLB 311)

Peace Corps Information Session: Wesleyan is the third leading annual provider of volunteers to the Peace Corps among colleges and universities in CT.  This is saying a lot considering that the first and second providers, UConn and Yale, have a much larger undergraduate population than Wes.
There are good reasons why Wes students are drawn to the Peace Corps.  Find out for yourself at this info session! (9/23; 12p-1p in Usdan 108)

Venture for America Information Session: Come learn about the Venture for America program, which allows young, talented grads to spend two years in the trenches of a start-up, with the goal that these graduates will become socialized and mobilized as entrepreneurs moving forward. (9/23; 6p-7p in 41 Wyllys Ave)
